SAN JOSE, Calif. – Nov. 30, 2016 – Untangle® Inc., a leader in comprehensive network security for small-to-medium business, today announced it has been named a winner in two categories of the Best in Biz North America Awards, the only independent business awards program judged by members of the press and industry analysts. Untangle received a Silver award for Small or Medium Business (SMB) Product of the Year category, as well as a Bronze award for Most Customer Friendly Company of the Year category.
“We are pleased to have been recognized in both of these categories,” said Scott Devens, chief executive officer of Untangle. “It is an honor to receive the industry’s acknowledgment not only for product excellence, but also for our commitment to provide outstanding service and support to our customers.” Untangle NG Firewall, a unified threat management and next-generation firewall solution for small-to-medium business, was also honored earlier this year under the SMB Product of the Year category for the Best in Biz International Awards. This is the second year in a row Untangle has placed in the Most Customer Friendly Company of the Year category.
Untangle NG Firewall delivers a comprehensive solution for small-to-medium businesses and home offices that require enterprise-grade perimeter security with the flexibility of a convergent UTM device and the utility of a consumer product. Untangle’s industry-leading approach to network traffic visibility and policy management provides its customers deep insight into what’s happening on their network via its database-driven reporting engine and 360° Dashboard.
“I am impressed by the quality of entries in the Small or Medium Business Product of the Year category; from the smaller business to the most well-known technology firm,” said Ralph Jensen, Security Products Magazine, judging his first Best in Biz Awards competition.
The sixth annual Best in Biz program in North America garnered more than 600 entries from an impressive array of public and private companies of all sizes and from a variety of industries and geographic regions in the U.S. and Canada. Best in Biz Awards 2016 honors were presented in 60 categories. Winners of Best in Biz Awards 2016 were determined based on scoring from an independent panel of 50 judges from widely known newspapers, business, consumer and technology publications, TV outlets, and analyst firms.
“If companies are going to stand out from the crowd and remain competitive in future years, innovation is key. The market is tough and there is no guarantee that today’s dominant players will remain so — unless time and effort are concentrated on research and development,” said Charlie Osborne, ZDNet, one of Best in Biz Awards’ judges this year. “This year’s entries in Best in Biz Awards highlighted not only innovative business practices but the emergence of next-generation technologies which will keep companies current and relevant.”
