Includes performance enhancement, and ability for OEM customization
SAN MATEO, Calif., June 3, 2010 – Untangle, Inc., a network software company, today announced availability of Untangle® 7.3, the latest version of its award-winning multi-functional firewall software.
With every release Untangle continues to make refinements to its product. This time round, there are improvements to performance, enhanced reporting capabilities, and support for broader network hardware available on the market.
However, for the first time, the company has also enabled its product to be integrated by other appliance hardware vendors and assemblers. This so called “white box” ability allows companies that wish to utilize Untangle software within their own products, to do so; an approach that is popular with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
Bob Walters, CEO of Untangle, said: “The multi-function firewall market has matured. We are now being approached by vendors that are interested in using our established software to participate in the sector, rather than them going it alone. With Untangle 7.3, we have enabled this. Our OEM Toolkit allows OEM partners to use Untangle, whilst maintaining their own branding throughout their customers’ experience.”
