Open Source Package

All Untangle apps can be downloaded individually to tailor your Untangle Server to the specific needs of your network. However, many organizations choose to run all of Untangle's open source apps and the Open Source Package bundles them together in one convenient download.  All Untangle apps are:    

• Pre-configured to work right away
• Designed to run together seamlessly
• Integrated with a common GUI, logging & reporting

GPLv2 License

The Open Source Package and all 12 apps are licensed under the GNU Public License v2 (GPLv2), which means its free to use, modify, and distribute. The code in "api" is licensed under GPLv2 plus the linking exception to allow for non-GPL compatible licensed applications to be loaded into the platform. The GPL software is free as in freedom and free as in beer.
